課程概述

Topics to be covered:
I. Linear and Multilinear Methods.
a. Singular value decomposition (SVD); principal component analysis (PCA); selection of component number.
b. Multilinear algebra.
c. High order SVD; multi-linear PCA; rank (component number) selection.
d. Linear discriminant analysis.
e. K-means clustering.

II. Non-linear Methods
a. Basic techniques/theory for kernel machines.
b. Kernel PCA, kernel Fisher discriminant analysis.
c. Support vector machines (SVM).
d. Information-criterion based clustering.

 Learn contemporary machine learning techniques with statistical focus.

c. Multivariate statistical analysis.

Software:
Matlab. (R or other software is ok as well.)
